"Through research and residencies with Scientists I locate the hidden and usually unseen aspects to be highlighted and reinterpreted.  My aim is to intrigue the viewer, to affect their perception of the world.  At the moment my investigation is with Astronomy.   Astronomy highlights the existence of intangible and unreachable 'spaces' normally dismissed.  My artwork aims to explore the fascination of these 'spaces' which impel us to question our existence in the universe.  As in Astronomy our perception of light space and time is used to define humanity's involvement with, and connection to, the universe." - Vanessa Stanley
